This bike tour offers an adventurous journey through Amsterdam South East and its rural surroundings.

Between the Green Heart and the IJmeer, just below Diemen and Duivendrecht, lays the district of Amsterdam South East, the only district of the city that lays separate from it, a district with a very interesting history.

During this unique bike tour, we will pass through the Bijlmer Museum, and then we will start exploring the country side surrounding South East. We will cycle along the Gaasp, and then along Gein, on dikes that have been there for centuries. The landscape is beautiful, with its windmills, its farms and rivers and pastures. The land harbours many surprises, and you will see for yourself why and how art found its way here.

We will cycle through the village of Abcoude, and, depending on the interests of the group, and the weather, we can make a stop and take a swim in the lake in the recreational area De Hoge Dijk, or we can visit the Vrolik museum, an exceptional museum for anyone with a medical interest. And we might see the Gasconne cows and bike along them in the Gaasperzoom, or visit a cheese farm.

Thus, this bicycle tour is one of the most varied available, covering urban territory, and also a beautiful landscape that is so typically Dutch.

The trip will take approximately half a day.
